"How can something that looks so good smell so bad?" - immortal words I assure you, whether attributed to the plasticised delicacies available in our street-stall eateries (actually that may be the exact inverse of the case), the first burgeoning feelings of Love and its awkward bedfellow Lust, perhaps you (as I) felt it with the works of Salman Rushdie- great narrative, but something whiffy pervades the halls of these joyous museums. And pointing it out is painful, it feels like explaining to a young mother that No, her child is not beautiful, it is the product of two filthy things via a single filfthy act, and it looks exactly as it would- pug amongst pups, it will likely never be beautiful, and the best it can hope for is to be shined upon briefly by the universally fashionable light of middle-youth.

Such is this thing: NAWLZ

I urge you to take a look- this is one of the most beautifully designed pieces of web work I think I've seen. Well, beautiful, that is, if you like cold neon glow, scratchy futuristic (as opposed to futurist, which this is not, at least in the old sense) sketches with lines of numbers floating past and stuff. You know. Its a novel form of graphic novel, using the possibilities of Flash to an interesting end.

But...BUT!! It's just a little whiffy. Great looks, great structure and narrative style... Just... Oh just take a look will you and agree with me that we really shouldn't be looking at this kind of thing until we've finished all the Dostoevskys and Perecs and even Philip K Dicks in the world... How can writers make a living if these imposters are out there making it all look so good and mean so little?
